Kurzanleitung: Blender 2.90 Setup für virtuelle Welten

Dies ist meine persönliche Kurzanleitung, Blender 2.90 so einzurichten, dass ich damit bequem arbeiten kann. Die Oberfläche wird damit für die Erstellung von statischen Inhalten optimiert und die Farben ähnlich des ehemaligen Blender-Forums Elysium angepasst.

Vorbemerkungen

Durchzuführende Schritte


(Tested under Windows 7 - change paths as needed on your system)
(some add-ons are exluded with // since they are missing in Blender 2.82)

Start Blender
Menu FILE > DEFAULTS > Load Factory Settings

Add new Workspace
  Right-click LAYOUT tab
  Duplicate
  Double-Click Layout.001 tab
  Rename tab into "VW"
  Right-click new tab > Reorder to Front
3D Viewport:
  Header > Flip To Bottom
  Hit T to hide Toolbar
  Disable SHOW GIZMO
  Delete Camera
  Delete Light
  Select cube
  Activate TOGGLE X-Ray
  Activate SNAP DURING TRANSFORM
  VIEWPORT SHADING
    Switch LIGHTING to MATCAP
    Switch COLOR to TEXTURE
    Activate BACKFACE CULLING
    Disable OUTLINE
  VIEW > SIDEBAR (or N) to show SIDEBAR
      ??? Activate AMBIENT OCCLUSION
    Select tab VIEW
    Right-click tab COLLECTIONS
      Enable PIN
    Select tab ITEM
    Open tab COLLECTIONS
    Sort panels:
      COLLECTIONS
      TRANSFORM
    Enter Edit Mode (TAB)
    Select tab ITEM
    In panel TRANSFORM enable GLOBAL
    Leave Edit Mode (TAB)
    Make sidebar slim
Time Line:
  switch to UV Editor
UV/Image Editor:
  make it a bit higher
  Right-click Header > Flip To Bottom
  VIEW > SIDEBAR (or N) to enable SIDEBAR
Outliner:
  Header > Flip To Bottom
  Filter > Restriction Toggles > enable SELECTABLE
  Add 5 new Collections
  Rename Collections:
    LOD3
    LOD2
    LOD1
    LOD0
    PHYS
  Hide collections LOD2, LOD1, LOD0, PHYS
  Select collection LOD3
Properties:
  Select tab MATERIAL PROPERTIES
Edit > Preferences...:
  Interface:
    Display:
      Deactivate SPLASH SCREEN
    Menus:
      Activate OPEN ON MOUSE OVER
      Pie Menus:
        Confirm Threshold: 20 px
  Themes:
    Switch theme to BLENDER DARK
    Hit + to add new theme
    Name: "Blender Dark VW"
    Hit OK
    (theme will be modified later via XML file editing)
  Editing:
    NEW OBJECTS:
      Activate ENTER EDIT MODE
  Addons:
    Activate these addons:
      INTERFACE: 3D Viewport Pie Menus
      INTERFACE: Dynamic Context Menu
      ADD CURVE: Extra Objects
      ADD CURVE: IvyGen
      ADD CURVE: Sapling Tree Gen
      ADD MESH: A.N.T.Landscape
      ADD MESH: Archimesh
      ADD MESH: BoltFactory
      ADD MESH: Extra Objects
      ADD MESH: GEODESIC DOMES
      MATERIAL: Material Utilities
      ??? OBJECT: Add Advanced Object Panels
      OBJECT: Edit Linked Library
      OBJECT: Oscuart Tools
      //??? UV: Texture Atlas
      MESH: Tissue

      UV: Tube UV Unwrap
        Install...
          Select "uv_tube_unwrap.py"
            (Source: https://github.com/uhlik/bpy)
        Activate this addon:
          UV: Tube UV Unwrap
  Navigation:
    Zoom
      Activate ZOOM TO MOUSE POSITION
  Keymap:
    Preferences:
      Spacebar Action: TOOLS
      3D View:
        Activate TAB FOR PIE MENU
  System:
    Memory & Limits
      Undo Steps: 128
  Save & Load
    Recent Files: 20
  File Paths:
    Fonts
      F:\Software\System\Windows\Fonts\
    Textures
      F:\
    Scripts:
      F:\Software\Grafik\3D\Blender\Skripte
    Temporary Files:

    ??? Activate SHOW THUMBNAILS
  SAVE PREFRENCES
  Close PREFERENCES window

Preset Collada Exporter:
  FILE > EXPORT > COLLADA (DEFAULT) (.dae)
  Click TOGGLE REGION icon (settings gear)
    Select OPERATOR PRESETS > SL+OpenSim Static
    MAIN
      TEXTURE OPTIONS
        Deactivate COPY
    GEOM
      Disable TRIANGULATE
    EXTRA
      Activate LIMIT PRECISION
    Hit + icon to add new operator preset
      name it "SL+OpenSimulator Static v06"
  CANCEL to close the export window

Outliner:
  Delete original Collection

3D Viewport
  Top View (Num7)
  SHIFT+C to set Curser to center
  VIEW > ALIGN VIEW > CENTER VIEW TO CURSOR

Adjust width and height of all areas as needed
FILE > DEFAULTS > SAVE STARTUP FILE
Close Blender application

Create custom UI theme:
  Edit with text editor:
    blender_dark_vw.xml
    to be found in
      C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.90\scripts\presets\interface_theme
    Replace all color codes 5680C2 with ff7021
    Save .xml file
  Enable new theme
    Start Blender application
    Edit > Preferences...:
      Themes
        Switch Theme to "Blender Dark VW"
    SAVE PREFRENCES
    Close PREFERENCES window
    Close Blender application

Transfer Bookmarks and Recent Files from the previous version:
  Go to
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.83\config
  Copy bookmarks.txt and recent-files.txt to
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.90\config

Transfer User Presets from the previous version:
  Check in this folder, which presets you want to keep
  (exclude the Collada exporter you already defined above):
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.83\scripts\presets\operator
  Then copy them to
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.90\scripts\presets\operator

Backup this folder:
  C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.90
