Kurzanleitung: Blender 2.81 Setup für virtuelle Welten

Dies ist meine persönliche Kurzanleitung, Blender 2.81 so einzurichten, dass ich damit bequem arbeiten kann. Die Oberfläche wird damit für die Erstellung von statischen Inhalten optimiert und die Farben ähnlich des ehemaligen Blender-Forums Elysium angepasst.

Da Blender 2.8x noch recht neu ist und ich damit noch meine Erfahrung sammeln muss, wird sich diese Seite noch häufiger ändern.

Die Anleitung für Blender 2.79 bleibt vorerst erhalten.

Vorbemerkungen

Durchzuführende Schritte


(Tested under Windows 7 - change paths as needed on your system)
(some add-ons are exluded with // since they are missing in Blender 2.81a)

Start Blender
Menu FILE > DEFAULTS > Load Factory Settings

Add new Workspace
  Right-click LAYOUT tab
  Duplicate
  Double-Click Layout.001 tab
  Rename tab into "VW"
3D Viewport:
  Header > Flip To Bottom
  Top View (Num7)
  Select cube
  Activate SNAP DURING TRANSFORM
  Activate TOGGLE X-Ray
  VIEWPORT SHADING
    Switch to MATCAP lighting
    Switch the Colors coming from TEXTURE
    Activate BACKFACE CULLING
  VIEW > SIDEBAR (or N) to show SIDEBAR
      ??? Activate AMBIENT OCCLUSION
    Tab VIEW
      Close these tabs:
        View
      Open these tabs:
        Collections
    Enter Edit Mode (TAB)
      Tab ITEM
        Transform: Set to Global
    Leave Edit Mode (TAB)
  VIEW > SIDEBAR (or N) to hide SIDEBAR
Time Line:
  switch to UV Editor
UV/Image Editor:
  make it a bit higher
  VIEW > SIDEBAR (or N) to enable SIDEBAR
Outliner:
  Header > Flip To Bottom
  //Display Mode: View Layer
3D Viewport:
  Delete Cube, Camera and Lamp
  Header > Flip To Bottom
Properties:
  Render Properties
    Activate BACKFACE CULLING
      (this is for Viewport Shading)
Edit > Preferences...:
  Interface:
    Display:
      Deactivate SHOW SPLASH
    Menus:
      Activate OPEN ON MOUSE OVER
    Pie Menus:
      Confirm Threshold: 20 px
  THEMES:
    Switch theme to BLENDER DARK
    Hit + to add new theme
    Save as new theme
    Name "Blender Dark VW"
      (theme will be modified later via XML file editing)
  Editing:
    NEW OBJECTS:
      Activate ENTER EDIT MODE
  Addons:
    Activate these addons:
      3D VIEW: Dynamic Context Menu
      ADD CURVE: Extra Objects
      ADD CURVE: IvyGen
      ADD CURVE: Sapling Tree Gen
      ADD MESH: A.N.T.Landscape
      ADD MESH: Archimesh
      ADD MESH: BoltFactory
      ADD MESH: Extra Objects

Preset Collada Exporter:
  FILE > EXPORT > COLLADA (DEFAULT) (.dae)
  Click TOGGLE REGION icon (settings gear)
    Select OPERATOR PRESETS > SL+OpenSim Static
    MAIN
      TEXTURE OPTIONS
        Deactivate COPY
    GEOM
      Disable TRIANGULATE
    EXTRA
      Activate LIMIT PRECISION
    Hit + icon to add new operator preset
      name it "SL+OpenSimulator Static v04"
  CANCEL to close the export window

3D Viewport
  Delete Camera, Cube and Light
  SHIFT+C to set Curser to center
  VIEW > ALIGN VIEW > CENTER VIEW TO CURSOR

FILE > DEFAULTS > SAVE STARTUP FILE
Close Blender application

Create custom UI theme:
  Edit with text editor:
    blender_dark_vw.xml
    to be found in
      C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.81\scripts\presets\interface_theme
    Replace all color codes 5680C2 with ff7021
    Save xml file
  Enable new theme
    Start Blender application
    Edit > Preferences...:
      Themes
        Switch Theme to "Blender Dark VW"
    SAVE PREFRENCES
    Close PREFERENCES window
    Close Blender application

Transfer Bookmarks and Recent Files from the previous version:
  Go to
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.80\config
  Copy bookmarks.txt and recent-files.txt to
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.81\config

Transfer User Presets from the previous version:
  Check in this folder, which presets you want to keep
  (except the Collada exporter you already defined above):
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.80\scripts\presets\operator
  Then copy them to
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.81\scripts\presets\operator

Backup this folder:
  C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.81
